My client required hardware and software development assistance for an ARM-based consumer product. A test fixture was needed, and the original prototype had problems in the power supply as well as a sneak circuit causing failures in the control feedback section. I designed and built the test fixture, and redesigned the PCB. The power supply problem was eliminated, and so was the sneak circuit. I recently completed another PCB design to reduce the product's size and add features. The project is ongoing. My client required a specialized VHF test receiver to support a contract. I recommended building a software-defined receiver based on an Ettus Research USRP 1 with custom software (which I developed) to demodulate the particular signal set. The project was successful; my client now has a low-cost test receiver for his products. My client required a Simulink model of a QAM modulator for head-end cable equipment. I researched the requirement and built the model, while simultaneously building a model for a matching demodulator in order to test the modulator model. The model included custom Simulink blocks for a trellis coder and decoder, which I developed. The project was successful.
