I have been working in the information technology field since 1977. I have a Bachelor Of Applied Science Degree (Mathematics) and a Master Of Applied Science (Computing Science). I started as a programmer and progressed through analysis, management, project management and then strategic planning and consultancy. My IT career crosses many industries including finance and banking, manufacturing, distribution and sales, health, small, medium and large business, power and mining.I have been involved in the implementation of many technologies and systems over the years. Over the past 10 years this has included video conferencing, IP telephony, electronic document storage and retrieval, electronic policy and protocol, server virtualisation using ESX, Multiple SAN solutions, hierarchical storage management solutions, networks, server infrastructures, service and helpdesk environment, etc.One particular area of interest and achievement has been managing culture change within information technology teams and the subsequent benefit throughout an organisation. The perspective of business is paramount in successful delivery of information technology benefit.
