As a Safety Engineer Consultant, responsibilities include producing bids, including compiling cost estimates, and safety/risk assessment and management based technical projects, such as providing engineering safety and risk inputs on addition and alteration projects (MOD projects which add new or alter existing systems on-board various platforms). Additional tasks include the project management of several ‘pass through’ projects, where my role is focused on ensuring accurate forecasting of invoices from a Contractor and to a key MOD Client, including the requirement to obtain agreement for rate alterations where tasks have fallen across multiple budget years. Key responsibilities include the production of technical reports, checking and approving of others’ technical work, and the management of assigned sub-tasks, which form part of larger projects. I hold the additional support roles of Facilities Manager and Health and Safety Manager for the Plymouth office. Both roles input directly into the whole company’s performance for Quality (ISO9001), Safety (OHSAS18001) and Environment (ISO14001), including company-wide monitoring, assessment tasks and audits.
