I’m able to help create outstanding wine experiences that educate customers and motivate sales for local wineries. I have a strong understanding of many aspects of wine drinking, including flavor analysis (lets people understand how and why they taste specific flavors), sensory analysis of wine (helps customers identify what facets of a wine they like), neuroesthetics of wine (why people have preferences), flavor interactions (make or break a food-wine pairing), plus what different growing environments create different styles of wine. Another area of expertise is working events and remote wine tastings. I’ve poured wine at over 150 events often working solo, handling set-up, pouring and tear-down. I can design and produce display signs and maps, as well as handouts with limited time sales or tasting room offers (this helps make a tasting more effective).I also have a unique marketing communication and branding ability, as I’ve worked in all phases of MarCom, from corporate marketing (developing strategies and the primary message) to advertising (creating an effective means to communicate the message, as well as where to place it) to publishing (how to disseminate the advertising message in a compelling environment to targeted readers). Plus my publishing and advertising experience has helped me become an excellent PR writer, who knows how to write press releases that get published.Available for part-time or contract work.

Certified wine judge. Have judged over 17 years for the California State Fair Commercial competition, Cal State Fair Home-winemaking competition, Lodi International Wine Competition.

My dog Max and I were a certified Dog Therapy Team, where we visited hospitals, senior centers and retirement homes to bring cheer to the patients and residents. We also went to local colleges for "stress-reduction" events, summer camps for kids, and even helped for a TV production.

I was an early investor in this privately held Zinfandel producer; In 2001 Kent Rosenblum asked me to help manage the marketing of the company. I handled all phases of PR, Advertising, Competitions, Trade Shows, Compliance, as well as worked in Tasting Room and many events. Company is now part of Diageo wine & spirits.

General Manager of Microsoft Sidewalk, a San Francisco based arts, entertainment, food and wine website. I was responsible for hiring a staff of 25, starting an office and defining product directions. Project was part of large MSN content effort that ended up being canceled.

Was the first full-time employee at this startup magazine and helped build it into a successful profitable brand, winning many awards. I oversaw all aspects of the magazine including editorial, sales, circulation and marketing. When I left in 1997 the magazine had a staff of 30 and distribution of over 100,000.
