Protecting a rural area of the National Capital as a fully trained firefighter as well as the responsibility for the Coordination of the training of 125 Volunteer Firefighters in District 8. In addition to being a responding member Peter is responsible for the education and training of the members through developing and delivering course content, scheduling and overseeing other stations trainings and managing the program for training of new recruits

Sales Manager within the Ontario Area Management responsible for all Fire Sales staff and some Security Sales leaders in the Ottawa and Kingston Branches of the company This includes the supervision, hiring and training of all of these roles as well as ensuring that the financial and accounts receivables duties were perfomed as per company policy. A strong believer in the use of metrics and cadence’s to ensure we maximize efficiency Peter made use of these tools extensively when working both one on one and as a group with his team. a member of the Managment team, Peter worked closely with Installation and Service Managers to ensure projects were completed properly and on time and budge. Education is a key part of the role both by ensuring company provided training is delivered in an interesting environment and Peter embraced his role as a coach and facilitator for his team, ensuring that they had the skills and tools they need to succeed.

In this role as the Executive Director of a Not for Profit National Association governed by a Board of Directors Peter had overall executive and management responsibility for the operations of the organization including representing the CFAA to Local, Provincial and Governments and companies as well as other associations. In addition, as the liason between Governments, other trade organizations and the ICI community, the position required representing the CFAA publicly at events. As the Executive member of the Board he was responsible for implementing the programs and policies of the Board as well as the direct report of all staff members and consultants. Preparation and execution of the budget as well as creating a new operating and strategic plan were significant roles of the position. A direct report to the President and Executive Committee he provided updates following a complete review of operations and created a new strategic operations plan including implementing many new cost and purchasing controls to improve the financial strength of the organization as well as provide transparency in program development. The position required regular travel across Canada to meet with members as well as to provide training when required. Peter reluctantly left this position due it being located in the GTA to return home to Ottawa for family reasons, he has remained active with the CFAA as a volunteer.
