Peter championed the introduction of “sustainability” at AFGRI, in particular issues concerning the group’s environmental impacts and reporting and the management and reporting of the group’s B-BBEE scorecard. From 2008, Peter directed the integrated reporting process; adopting principles, sourcing material and writing the majority of the content.

Peter lead a large team of divisional and corporate accountants in the production of the IFRS compliaint annual financial statements. Peter managed the corporate office accounting function and the implementation of consolidation software and reduced the group's overall reporting timeframe.
