Maintenance is essential to keep a DC running efficiently.Risk management – Wherever risk is identified my role is to reduce risk to acceptable levels with effective control measures and SSOW.Energy efficiency management – My task has been to identify possible areas when efficiency gains could be made. Planning what we can do, identifying suitable replacement equipment/areas for optimization and then procuring and managing the projects to reduce long term costs for my client.Technical management of the infrastructure both mechanical and electrical. UPS systems, STS systems, Backup generator systems inc long term bulk fuel storage, Electrical infrastructure (HV and LV), BMS monitoring systems, PMS systems, Chillers, CW and DX DFU systems, Critical data hall environments both high density and low density, Fire suppression systems. Planning of LV and HV switching works from planning, writing a SSOW, Switching schedules and implementation of switching. I’m also responsible for sub- contractor management from identifying and planning works through to completion of works. This includes seeking appropriate contractors, negotiating costs and ensuring health and safety is maintained throughout the course of works with appropriate Safe systems of work and adequate risk assessments. I worke as a shift tech at the data centre completing all reactive and planned maintenance at the data centre on Generators, UPS systems,STS systems, chillers and DX/CW DFU's. While in this postion I was HV AP trained and approved.
