I use my Linkedin account for academic as well as business-related activities, but I do not update my profile frequently. My academic profile is rather internationally oriented. I did my PhD in Sociology at Harvard University, and I have held professorial positions at the University of Chicago, Stockholm University, Oxford University, Singapore Management University, NYU - Abu Dhabi, the Institute for Futures Studies, and Linköping University. I am a member of several academies including The Royal Swedish Academy of Science and the The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities. I have served on the board of the Swedish Research Council for six years and I am currently on the board of STINT, the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education. At that time Stata was essentially unknown in this part of the world. I had learnt to know Stata during my years at the University of Chicago, and I loved the program. When I returned to Stockholm I therefore contacted StataCorp and Metrika shortly thereafter became the first Stata distributor in the world. Since then Stata and Metrika has grown considerably.
