• Assist in organizing the Western Power Players events including invitations for over 200 senior executives from nearly all major utilities in the West, regulators, environmental NGOs, large customers, state legislators, and academics• Plan programming for the 4-day events, including securing speakers and panels for keynote sessions, registration of attendees and management of 10 to 12 volunteers• Facilitate breakout group sessions and transform the event's discussions into a white paper to send to all attendees

I led the development of an in-depth investigation and critical review of the best practices on energy poverty and decarbonization policies to extract key lessons learned and actively disseminate them. Additionally, I used a machine learning model to produce novel estimates of energy poverty indicators across all census tracts in the United States and determine efficient allocation of federal and state resources. This work was done to help assess how the ongoing decarbonization efforts can asymmetrically affect the different categories of energy consumers (focused on low-income households) and how to advance recommendations to design innovative policy and regulatory solutions.

• Research and draft public policy and legislative proposals, focused on energy, environment, and technology and inclusive of criminal justice, education, and healthcare• Provide support during Joint Budget Committee hearings to help the passage of the Long Bill, which allocates the entire $34.1 billion Colorado General Fund.• Briefing Senator Hansen on day-to-day proceedings at the Capitol and communicating these updates to over 160,000 constituents in CO Senate District 31. • Supervise and develop goals for a team of 2 interns focused on policy research and constituent interactions; Recruit and supervise 2 MIT Micro-Interns during the IAP term.• Work closely with the Colorado Energy Water Institute (CEWI) and Western Freedom to advance energy and environment-focused issues by bringing together policy, industry, nonprofit, and academic leaders. • Build and run town halls and other constituent engagement events to solicit input from stakeholders and community members that help to shape future policy proposals.

• Develop a curriculum and create the agenda for an eight-week summer fellowship program that is designed to provide students from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics educational backgrounds with policy making experience • Recruit and evaluate up to 20 candidates for the fellowship from universities across Colorado and the United States• Supervise the team of fellows throughout the summer and assist them in developing policy proposals to be presented to Colorado lawmakers and stakeholders at the end of the fellowship term• Fundraise for and manage a $65,000+ budget to provide fellows with a stipend and to fund operational costs

• Performed research and testing design for the Water-Energy Nexus Interdisciplinary Research Theme (IRT) program at CU Boulder• Focused on removal of nitrate from certain contaminated sources using titanium dioxide as a photocatalyst• Collaborated with professors Julie Korak and Al Weimer to design an apparatus and test for validity with a purpose of eliminating nitrate in the laboratory setting, including an extensive literature review, designing test matrices for laboratory studies, and design of a testing apparatus that will perform at expected conditions

• Worked under Representative Chris Hansen and Senator Bob Rankin at the Colorado Capitol Building• Crafted effective policy that is grounded in science and engineering, specifically drafted legislation that promotes the usage of greywater systems in residential and commercial buildings in the State of Colorado• Presented findings and final draft of the legislation and surrounding research to the Director of the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the State Engineer. • Helped to increase the presence of individuals in public policy that come from a science and engineering background as well as develop the next generation of policy and science leaders in Colorado and beyond

• Successfully designed piping systems in a small treatment building for CSU San Luis Valley Research Center• Worked on projects involving: designing and detailing drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities• Researched lysimeters and other water/soil quality testing devices, researching governmental databases (NOAA data, Colorado DNR, US Bureau of Reclamation)• Gained experience in project management and obtaining new clients as a consultant engineer• Researched and reviewed for U.S. Department of Justice lawsuit cases involving water quality and water rights
