Peter has nearly 25 years of global leveraged finance experience across investment banking, capital markets, high yield trading/research, and portfolio management. Leading with a business development and entrepreneurial style, Peter has proven an ability to fundraise billions in AUM. Additionally, he had shared management responsibilities and oversight of collaboratively leading teams to achieve best-in-class returns, while pursuing broader business growth and international expansion. Most recently, as Partner and Lead Portfolio Manager at Ares Management, Peter initiated the build-out of Separately Managed Account (“SMA”) mandates and commingled fund offerings, culminating in Ares’ inaugural European Liquid Credit (“ELC”) fund raise. As the lead portfolio manager, Peter was responsible for managing those SMAs, including portfolio construction and trading decisions focused on high yield bonds and leveraged loans. Peter was also responsible for fundamental credit decisions on all investments across the broader ELC platform, including CLOs, as a member of the ELC Investment Committee. Previously, Peter was Partner and Global Head of Long Only Leveraged Finance Strategies at BlueBay Asset Management, a $60bn fund manager based in London. As the Senior Portfolio Manager for BlueBay's Global High Yield and Leveraged Loan funds, Peter led investment responsibilities for all European and US portfolio investments, as well as marketing responsibilities for one of Europe’s largest high yield managers.
