About Peter Higgins

Pete Higgins has more than twenty-five years of experience as a Mechanical/Fluid Systems Design Engineer and Project Engineering Manager. Mr. Higgins worked at Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) while attending California Polytechnic University and continued as a Mechanical Engineer soon after graduation. He subsequently performed powerplant fluid system design for the new class of aircraft carrier (Ford class) while working at Northrop Grumman and in the commercial power sector with Black & Veatch. Pete managed the engineering group at the Monsanto Electronics Manufacturing polysilicon production site for 8 years. During this time, the engineering team supported a $220 million plant expansion. This three-year project included design, construction, and commissioning support. At MEMC, he led design development for fluidized bed pyrolysis reactors using gaseous hydrogen to produce ultra-high purity polysilicon. Using this expertise, Pete developed a novel polysilicon production plant and fluidized bed reactor design as Principal Research Engineer at Woongjin Polysilicon in South Korea.Mr. Higgins served as project engineering manager for several domestic and international large-scale natural gas processing and compressor station projects, overseeing the design work of more than thirty engineers and designers. Pete has also served as Process Technology Manager and Lead Process Engineer on large-scale projects and has performed detailed equipment design and product development with a focus on technology integration. He has performed analysis to include computational fluid dynamic simulations, Aspen+ process simulations, fluid pressure drop simulations, and pipe stress calculations. Pete is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas.
