Peter retired from TransLink in April 2014 to start another phase of his life that will be focused on travel, self improvement and community involvement. Peter worked for the British Columbia Public Service for 34 years progressing through the ranks of a number of ministries (Tourism, Housing, Attorney General and Transportation) working as an administrator and policy developer. In 1992, Peter was named Manager, Program Policy for the first light duty vehicle emissions inspection program in Canada (AirCare). At the time, the program inspected over 1.1 million light duty vehicles per year in the Metro Vancouver region.In 2007, Peter joined the project team that was implementing TransLink’s new Access Transit Strategy. In early 2008, Peter was named Manager, Access Transit with responsibilities to coordinate policy and processes that would ensure that all TransLink funded projects, purchases and policies were vetted through an ‘accessibility’ lens.Specialties: Seniors' transportation; accessibility issues focused on people with disabilities; and customer and stakeholder relations
