I work as a Rural Community Development Coordinator for Humber & Wolds Rural Community in the Humber area. My main areas of work comprise helping rural communities produce Neighbourhood Development Plans (NDPs), Community Engagement activity including consultations linked to the production of NDPs.I also work as the Rural Energy Advice Officer for the organisation, working primarily in off gas rural communities in East Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire. Our aim is to provide information on Energy Efficiency measures that can be used to help for those living in Fuel Poverty. For this, we work primarily in partnership with the three Local Authorities and their Affordable Warmth Officers. I am a qualified Energy Adviser.I also run the YORSwitch Bulk Oil Buying Scheme for East Yorkshire, which provides a county wide bulk purchasing facility for Residents, Rural Community Buildings and Businesses, to help reduce the cost of heating oil. We have saved our members of the scheme a considerable amount of money.
