Peter Hudacsek Email and Phone Number
I have 20 years of experience in setting up experiments, test systems, data acquisition systems based on the products of different vendors. My first degree is in civil engineering, more specifically in geotechnical engineering. In this field I am specialised in soil mechanics, and laboratory testing of soils. The skills required to be able to carry out various measurement and remote control tasks were obtained during the 4 years spent with research at Dundee university. In the past 10 years I taught a BSc course of soil mechanics and two Masters courses (advanced soil mechanics and soil investigation) in Hungarian and more recently in English in the Szechenyi István University (Győr, Hungary) Over the last 14 years, I have played a key role in conducting approximately 500-600 pile load tests and 30-50 bridge load tests throughout Hungary. I have developed a partially automated testing system that enhances the efficiency of prolonged tests and contributed to creating Hungary's highest-capacity pile load testing systems. A significant portion of my work has focused on railcar and track analysis, involving dynamic strain and vibration measurements to assess railcar-track interactions, early detect and help mending structural failures. Additionally, I have designed and implemented various monitoring systems, primarily for vibrations in industrial driers, bridges, and transmission towers. I have also been involved in commission testing for photovoltaic parks, where I developed innovative testing and data analysis methods.Currently, I am leading a project on developing novel patented geotechnical testing equipment while expanding my company’s capabilities in advanced acoustic measurements for buildings and mechanical systems, and also for seismic profiling (MASW). Although I am currently on a break from my teaching responsibilities, I look forward to the opportunity to resume teaching in a limited capacity in the near future.I am alway open to new ideas in the field of test and measurement, I try to attend conferences and follow the trends of the industry. My latest personal interest is white water kayaking, where recently I started to investigate the possibilities of joining forces of professional DAQ knowledge and personal advancement in kayaking skills by developing sensor systems that can support both amateur kayakers and professional slalom athletes in their progression.
