This involved all aspects of project management from project development, estimating and planning through detailed design to installation and commissioning including live cur-over of running plant to the new system. In the later stages of this project I assumed responsibility for the on-line moving of the control desk from the original control room to the new refinery centralised control room.In addition to the CCR related projects, I also acted as Instrument Engineer on many projects including the installation of partial stroke test systems on trip valves in line with the requirements of IEC61511, fired heater controls and safety instrumented systems upgrades and several other re-instrumentation and reliability improvement projects.I also assisted in further developing the refinery alarm management strategy and standards around the DCS HMI design. In addition to this I also provided technical and professional support to the refinery operations and maintenance groups, implementing minor plant changes and assisting in resolving plant problems.
