HR Manager for large district, with an employee population of over five hundred. Responsibilities included extensive partnering with line of business management teams in the areas of recruiting and employee relations; also training, employee development, benefits counseling, compensation communication, Affirmative Action, and managing HR staff. While specifically assigned to work with Retail sales and service group, was commended for significantly improving employee retention, quality of hires, and Human Resources’ working relationship with line managers. Established first district-wide mentoring program. Served as member of District Senior Management Team and advisor to District Diversity Council.

Responsible for the company’s complete compensation and benefits program. Compensation responsibilities included managing the salary administration function, evaluating positions and determining salary ranges through the use of salary surveys, and designing and implementing incentive programs (was interviewed by a banking trade journal about one of the programs). Benefits responsibilities were quite broad: maintaining and or designing several types of plans including medical (self-insured plans, HMOs, PPOs and post-retirement plans), retirement, life, disability, workers’ compensation, EAP and Section 125 plans. Contracted with third party administrators and performed all government filings. Successfully maintained or reduced per employee costs even while industry costs were rising. Also responsible for managing HRIS, which included 2 major purchases and conversions.
