I can't believe it took me so long to discover the joy of novel-writing! Maybe I needed the stimulus of Cotswold villages. Maybe I just needed the headspace to create and argue with the characters. Maybe I just needed to realise how many real UK places are amazing character names. Or maybe I just needed a few murder plots. Whatever the reason, the Cotswold Capers series of cosy murder mysteries is now seeing the light of day: gentle stories set in the imaginary village of Much Slaughter (where else would you set them?) with Catherine de Barnes and her golden retriever puppy Dagenham becoming amateur sleuths assisted by village liar Scott Willoughby and his dog Barking (I did say they're all place-names), along with Wickham Skeith and Skye Green, a grumpy police inspector, a dishy doctor and a host more.
