Job Title - Regional Operations Outback Officer (Rooo)
CurrentIn my role, I achieve a greater level of fire safety for outback communities in the pastoral regions of South Australia including the communities within the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands (APY Lands)This will achieved by:* Develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholder bodies including nominated APY Lands communities, pastoralists, industries, and other communities.* Develop policy and procedures relating to response within the Pastorals area where mainstream response procedures are ineffective * Provision of expert advice on solutions for complex operational issues relating to bushfire response within the Pastorals area* Develop mitigation strategies (fire prevention) to support and protect communities throughout the Pastorals areas* Engage and liaise with key stakeholder agencies in order to development and ensure implementation of mitigation strategies * Validation (audit) of fire prevention measures performed by the responsible bodies within nominated APY Lands communities and other communities are completed to the required standards.* Maintenance and management of response equipment and infrastructure associated with CFS Brigades throughout the Pastoral areas.* Manage delivery of operational firefighter training for SACFS volunteers located within the Pastoral areas as prescribed by Risk and Capability assessment for Pastoral brigades.* Manage delivery of Community Fire Safe education by accessing existing programs developed by CFS Community Education and by facilitating the production of programs tailored for nominated APY Lands communities
