Worked to upgrade internal application server from RHEL 6 to RHEL 8. Recompiled and ported old programs to new technologies where they would be unsupported on RHEL 8 before obsolescence date.  Debugged and tested legacy RHEL 6 programs on RHEL 8 operating system image after recompiling and testing. Converted legacy programs written in SQR to Python and recompiled Pro*C and Java applications.  Wrote database scripts for new processes and generated report testing data using Oracle SQL.  Created and updated CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for application deployments to development and test servers. Tracked upgrade deliverables, sprint tasks and application defects with Jira. Communicated with solutions lead and product manager regarding best practices and solutions to technical problems encountered during the upgrade process. Developed and tested new features for a line of electric powered control valves for industrial clients. New features were developed and tested to ensure requirements were met and code was stable.  Performed firmware development and debugging using IAR Embedded workbench and C++.  Tested user interface builds with Python, creating new test cases when features were developed.  Tested firmware builds with cases implemented in NI Test Stand to utilize diagnostic instruments.  Planned and reviewed firmware and user interface test cases with Jama.  Converted 12 manual tests to automated tests, reducing test cycles by 1 hour.  Used Jira to manage sprint goals and issue tracking.Environment: C++, IAR Embedded Workbench, Jama, NI Test Stand, Perforce, Python, Windows
