Current employment on the HS2 project, I am the warehouse manager and also manage deltas main yard and several stores in locations across 7 sublots. It is a very hard job controlling all the materials ordered coming in and out from delivery to placement on each site. I have a large team of staff who range from cleaners to warehouse ops and store men. Each day is a challenge and a learning day on a project this size. I have worked in the oil and gas platform Decommissioning/demolition business over a number of years. I have worked abroad and also worked away in several UK locations, i have gained new skills and a different work ethic and outlook since coming into this industry. Coming from the automotive industry into the Decommissioning industry was a massive step and total different way of life. I have been able to adapt to being away from friends and family and working in a very dangerous environment very well. I work with equipment which i had never heard of but am now capable of using inspecting and repairing, i have new health and safety skills and completed many courses. Also gained my GWO working at height and rescue course.
