Peter Jamadar has been a Judge for the past 27 years, serving in both the High and Appeal Courts of Trinidad and Tobago and, since 2019, in the Caribbean Court of Justice. The Caribbean Court of Justice is a hybrid institution: an apex municipal court of last resort for Caribbean states and an international court vested with original, compulsory and exclusive jurisdiction in respect of the interpretation and application of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas. Peter also has extensive experience as a Judicial Educator for over 20 years, and has served as Chairperson of the Judicial Education Institute of Trinidad and Tobago and currently, the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers, and Vice President of Programming at the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute. He conceptualizes, plans, designs, facilitates, and manages judicial research and judicial education programmes and courses internationally and within the Caribbean region.Peter has also written and published numerous books, articles, and research papers, in addition to his judgments and decisions. As well, he has lead successful research projects interrogating systems and cultures in local and regional courts. He is also a Wellness and Development Educator who focuses on human development and transformation, and has facilitated numerous courses and seminars and written numerous papers in these areas.
