Headlam plc is the largest distributor of flooring products in Europe with a turnover c.£700m. Reporting to the UK Operations Director. Critical accountability held for stabilising the business then driving performance and growth. The position operated with complete P&L and budget autonomy and responsibility, whilst leading a team of 10 direct reports with 100 staff across warehouses, trade counters, logistics, operations, office, sales and finance.

TJ Services are a long-established mobility provider in South Wales. Installation, repairing and servicing of all mobility equipment to local authorities and private customers from West Wales to Newport. General Manager role created for me to completely restructure the business, modernise the processes, procedures and IT. The company had a very poor reputation that required turning around to save current contracts and attract new business. 3-phased change plan was created and implemented – change, stabilise and grow. The business is now financially viable with 2 showrooms and 4 warehouse units across South Wales with plans to expand along M4 corridor.

Rock is one of the fastest growing managed service providers in South Wales. MD role specifically created for me to stabilise the company then plan and execute national and international expansion. General daily management of the business with initial focus on significantly improving their reputation, customer service and general operation. Second phase was the structural reorganisation of all departments and expansion into London and Manchester. 5 direct reports with 80 staff across Service Team, HR, customer retention, sales, operations and project team.

Furlong Flooring is the largest manufacturer of domestic carpets in UK with 5 distribution centres, manufacture and delivery of +20 million m² per year, and a turnover c. £125m. Handpicked for a demanding and exciting role that reported directly into the Irish CEO, with a focus on bringing the company into profit within 4 years. Critical accountability was held for driving business performance and growth. The position operated with complete P&L and budget responsibility, whilst leading a team of 5 direct reports with 90 staff across warehouses and logistics, operations, office, sales and finance

PECI was one of the largest Fit-out contracting firms in the South Wales. Brought in to primarily work on a restructure of a long-established business. Role scope was predominantly leisure industry businesses, including Fitness First, Esporta and Virgin Active, but also featured Mothercare, DSG, councils and healthcare.

i-Floor Design was a turnkey operation, offering design and installation of bespoke carpets to many major 4 & 5* independent and national hotel chains. Initially appointed to Operations Manager, before rapid promotion to CEO within 6 months. Key account management and project management were major accountabilities. Remit included P&L management, business planning procurement, budgeting, HR and leadership of a team of 60 staff across sales, design, office, warehouse and logistics functions.
