• Responsible for federal, state and local government affairs and project outreach for the U.S.’s leading provider of natural gas transportation services. Report directly to Eastern and Western Pipeline Group presidents and numerous senior corporate executives. Formulate legislative strategies to advance issues of concern to El Paso focusing on the areas of energy, taxation, environment, regulatory issues, and business unit development projects. Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior management and employees, other business executives and personnel, members of state legislatures and their staff, Administration officials and industry and trade association representatives. • Focus on issues related to taxation, the environment and operational regulations, as well as specific energy projects for El Paso Corporation. Coordinate and participate in town meetings with landowners to discuss pending pipeline construction issues, and develop proactive strategies to anticipate possible opposition to such initiatives. Serve as effective advocate for the company by meeting regularly with business unit personnel. Meet with legislators and industry representatives to cultivate relationships in developing lobbying strategies, building coalitions and achieving consensus.
