ProjectWise Administration and Development on Skanska's RDP Highways Projects

Atkins, High Speed 2 – Euston Enabling Works (2017 – Present) – The enabling works for Euston Station included production of Architectural, Structural, and MEPH drawings and models for GRIP 3 to GRIP 6, and modelling of the changes to the existing structure to enable the construction of the new station which will accommodate the High Speed 2 trains. I was responsible for:• Development of the VBA applications and other automated tools to be used across the enabling works• Development of the ProjectWise Managed Workspace to be deployed on Network Rail’s IP ProjectWise Environment• Administration of the ProjectWise Testing Environment for the Managed Workspace• Creation, Configuration, and Maintenance of the HS2 AECOsim dataset for use across the enabling works• Development of the workflow methodology to be used in drawing production and composition, in compliance with internal and NR standards• Production, curation, and maintenance of the master deliverables list for all CAD related documents within ProjectWise for all disciplines. Generation and management of document numbers for documents created on ProjectWise• Testing and configuration of the new CONNECT Edition software for MicroStation and AECOSim• Providing technical support to the BIM Managers for AECOSim, MicroStation, and ProjectWise, as well as provision of specifications for required hardware, and other miscellaneous technical queries• Supervision and QA of CAD Operators’ work• Coordination of all disciplines in development of models and drawings for each package of works• Checking, advising on, and revising CAD Standards, BIM Execution Plans, CAD Guidance notes etc• Visualisations and animation of modelling and point cloud data for IDC/IDR.

Atkins, Crossrail Anglia (2015 – 2017) - Working on the M&E systems for 13 Stations as part of Network Rail’s infrastructure upgrade. Work included detailed modelling of the CMS, Lighting, HVAC Systems, Drainage, and DOO systems, and integrations into existing and new areas of the stations.• Detailed analysis of point cloud work was also undertaken to reduce the need for further physical surveys. Problematic signage was and located and identified along the route, then analysed to allow unique solutions to be created for individual elements.• Point cloud information was also used where existing structures required modelling for installation and integration of new systems and upgrades, including developing models of the station Ticket Halls, Platforms, Canopies, and other room and platform furniture. Modelling of OHLE structures was also undertaken, using supplied data generated from ELF.• During periods of extended absence of the project’s CAD Manager, I also undertook his roles, including management of CAD data, quality control, and dealing with inquiries both internal and client facing. I have also assisted in the smooth delivery of IDC, Form A, Form B, and AFC packages within ProjectWise, and liaised with the document controllers on the project.• I developed visual basic software routines and processes to improve drawing production output, and to automate common functions inside Microstation. I also developed visual basic routines to generate valid watermarked PDFs for issue when the ProjectWise rendition server failed to produce renditions.• Later in the role I took on CAD Coordination duties as the number of staff increased and conducted QA assessment of work produced for MEP. I also liaised with the CAD manager and staff on all disciplines, providing technical assistance, QA assessment, and coordination of data.

Crossrail C610 – Systemwide Main Works – Working in the M&E team developing the complex 3D models required to design and fit out the systems, services and equipment within the 42km of tunnels constructed beneath the streets of London. Work included developing the Walkways, Fire Mains, Pumped Drainage and CMS, and development of a system of three-dimensional setting-out information to account for cant within the tunnel using Excel and Visual Basic.Mott MacDonald Advanced Civil Engineering Apprenticeship – Work included editing railway track and topographical works drawings for railways, switches and crossings and using Microstation software for track design drawings and general arrangements. Detailed 3D modelling of structures, MEP services, and civil works.
