Last June 30, I have left PwC, after almost 25 years of partnership, and an unprecedentedly beautiful period of 37 years in total. It feels like a whole life, a succession of experiences, in which professionalism/connectivity have always been key. What a wonderful firm!I look back with pride on a period in which I was allowed to work as an auditor for inspiring companies and especially the entrepreneurs/families behind them. As an auditor I was always focused on our primary role, i.e. contributing to trust, but also to sustainable improvement. I also felt connected to the energy, entrepreneurship and the change mindset of many of my clients. Of course, this was "serious business", in the collaboration however a healthy dose of humor and the ability to put things into perspective also helped to understand complex problems and then solve them together. The dynamics within family businesses was and still is my special interest.My gratitude goes especially to all those people who have supported me in all those challenging projects/assignments, who have given honest feedback from which I was able to learn.What could be better than being able to work with the most diverse talent? What could be more beautiful than looking back and noticing that that talent has also been given the space? I will miss that dynamic terribly but will continue to follow many of my colleagues - albeit with some distance - as alumni.I say goodbye to this part of my life, but start a new adventure, with certainly a lot of new learning experiences. It will not sound strange that I like to use my broad background to help organizations take steps towards their sustainable growth/social/transformation goals. Help connect family values to company strategy and execution; improve the finance function; a more sustainable business; better use of talent and finally technology and people go hand in hand.I am sure that with my broad financial and managerial background I can support entrepreneurs by being a critical supervisor, by keeping an eye on the (untapped) improvement potential, but also by helping to see the talent.I therefore consider myself a “on-call worker” for supervision, advice, coaching, family officer, a listening ear and sharp analysis and finally also for just a good and pleasant conversation.Have been called up a few times, at the same time there is also time for letting go a little further, charging energy, paying attention to my family and friends and then….. curious about the unknown.
