As the executive director of Rural Literacy Solutions, I am passionate about improving literacy skills and access to quality education in rural communities in Ghana. I lead a team of dedicated educators and volunteers who provide after-school literacy tuition, small libraries, and digital learning opportunities to underprivileged students and teachers. We use MoodleBox, a platform based on Raspberry Pi that provides a wireless network and a full-fledged Moodle learning management system, to deliver online courses and resources that are aligned with the national curriculum and the needs of our learners. We also leverage Open Educational Resources (OER), which are teaching and learning materials that are freely available and adaptable, to enrich our content and foster collaboration and innovation. Our vision is to empower rural students and teachers with the knowledge and skills they need to reach their full potential and contribute to the development of their communities.
