As a Responsible AI trainer at the JKUAT Computing department, I was part of a dynamic team dedicated to training 3rd and 4th-year Computer Science students in Responsible AI principles for the design of AI systems. Our approach focused on collaborative learning, fostering teamwork, and guiding students in implementing key principles of Responsible AI, including:- Privacy and Data Protection: Empowering students to understand and integrate robust privacy measures into AI system designs.- Fairness and Bias Mitigation: Providing strategies to identify and mitigate biases in AI algorithms to ensure fairness and inclusivity.- Transparency and Accountability: Educating students on the importance of transparency and accountability in AI decision-making processes.- Designing Responsible AI Models: Equipping students with the skills to develop AI models that align with ethical and societal considerations.Using the NAO Humanoid Robot from Softbank Robotics, we provided an innovative, interactive, engaging and practical approach to guide students in implementing their team projects. Student teams demonstrated how they implemented the Responsible AI principles within their designs as part of our evaluation criteria.

- In this role, I worked with an early-stage startup in designing their MVP product in collaboration with a cross-functional team ranging from Software Engineers, Clients, Partners & Investor Stakeholders.- I was charged with the responsibility of ensuring product delivery for the MVP where I was the team lead for an engineering team comprising of a Project Manager, Business Analyst, Software Engineers, a Solution Architect and a DevOps Engineer reporting to the start-up's management and Investor Stakeholders.- I also led the MVP's AI Integration efforts with an overseas AI team comprising of 2 ML/AI Engineers, a Senior AI researcher, 2 QA Testers reporting to management of both organizations.- Internally, I was the head of the technology department leading a small team and ensuring the overall team's alignment with the organization's technology strategy and objectives. I also led a Capacity Building program for the department which was meant to upskill each individual member to handle higher roles.- I also wore the CTO's hat in various occasions as requested by the management.This was a great experience in handling start-up dynamics and challenges.

In this role I:- Lead the design and implementation of ERP systems to meet business requirements and objectives for various clients.- Collaborated with stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and goals with the aim of designing an optimal solution for them.- Designed the architecture and framework of ERP systems, considering scalability and integration requirements.- Customized and configured ERP systems to meet specific business workflows and requirements.- Planned and oversaw data migration from legacy systems to the new ERP solution, ensuring data integrity and security.- Provided training and support to end-users, IT staff, and stakeholders on ERP system usage and maintenance.- Drove the digital transformation agenda for organizational success by delivering tailored ERP solutions that streamline operations and drive growth.
