A social enterprise wholly owned by Bradford Council, consisting of two businesses providing manufacturing and installation of PVC-u windows, composite doors, and outdoor festival lights. We provide these commercial services to enable unemployed people with single or multiple disabilities and barriers to work to transform their lives by achieving and then sustaining work. Very proud to say that one in three of our trainees achieve a job outcome, and four out of five sustain it for at least 26 weeks.Commercial responsibility for achieving financial targets, including direct contact, commercial project and contract management, sales development and bid writing with key customers in both social housing and construction sectors. Have developed and launched new marketing strategy, branding, sales and marketing materials, and now a brand new website to increase visibility of the company to prospective customers.Negotiated and implemented several restructures of the businesses within a unionised environment, sensitively handling processes involving vulnerable adults.Developed a reputation for being able to work with a range of colleagues to find innovative solutions within an environment using rigid and often complex procedures.

Business based in the Republic of Ireland. Ireland's premier bed brand supplying the 'Kaymed'​ and 'King Koil' brands. Beginning with a small office, then set up a 25,000 square foot warehouse and distribution centre to primarily import and supply beds and mattresses on short lead times from stock. Set up processes that improved delivery performance to a major multiple retailer and improved the company supplier rating from 12th to 4th out of 18 suppliers in a nine month period.

Supplier and installer of premium education furniture, tables and seating to schools and academies.Improved the efficiency of the manufacturing processes, including implementing some lean manufacturing principles, reducing labour costs by 10%, increasing output and reducing machine downtime.Project and site management of major installation projects to £1m value across the UK.

Silentnight Beds, one of the UK's leading bed brands. Implemented a new structured process for new product introduction, creating the 'core'​ range and the structures of derivative products for other sales channels. Products were designed to fulfil design for manufacture and design to a cost, and to offer clear differentials in product allowing clear pricing strategies to be applied. Implemented 'variety without complexity', allowing sales to grow and achieving benefits for both sales and production teams. Using the ranges developed, sales teams increased sales from £40m to £63m over a five year period. Proud to say that the basic principles of this approach are still in place.Carried out re-engineering projects to modify product ranges and reduce product costs, one project reduced material costs by £270k per year.
