A startup with myself being one of the founding members. As a founding member most of the actions I have taking were made independently with the future of the company in mind.The team started off as with just me and another person but has grown to ten team members.On the server-side I experimented with Django, Parse, Flask, Node.js alone, sqlite, and PostgreSQL.I picked a tech stack using Ionic, Firebase and Node.js due to the circumstances of the startup.Other technologies used: Google Cloud Messaging, Google Maps API, Stripe, Jenkins and Mandrill.Formal documentation and design for the database. Updates were made when requirements changed and potential issues were discovered.Currently features authorization and authentication(oauth and local), different type of users associated with user created groups, tracking location of users, push notifications, CRUD operations to the database, ect.Highly organized team effort with updates on who is doing what and what should be done next.Interviewed potential team members, made key company decisions and managed developers.Taught new members of the team the technology stack being used and helped them with their tasks.

Cooperative work experience for college credit with both major and minor tasks being given to me.Was given a lot of independence, with requirements being given with very few suggestions.Worked both remotely and on-site at the office as needed. At the office I would discuss bugs, what I should do next and design decisions made by myself or other members of the team.Object-Oriented PHP was used with some classes being designed by myself. These designed were based on requirements stated by the company owner.All the database tables I used, except for one, were also designed personally. These designed were justified and discussed with the rest of the team. Modifications were made as needed.MVC architecture was implemented with guidance from the owner.PHP with MySQL were used on the server. Specifically MySQLi, PDO and prepared statements were used.Created an email class in PHP that sent custom emails using Mandrill. This class was used throughout the web application by other coders working on completely different tasks. Thorough documentation and tests were provided to them to avoid or address any potential issues.JSON encoding/decoding communication between the front-end JavaScript and back-end PHP. This was done in accordance to MVC architecture with custom PHP and JavaScript being written.HTML/CSS additions and corrections as well as custom JavaScript functions for animations and modifying the DOM to improve the UI experience for users.Login, sign-up and password rest was implemented for different types of users. Authorization was also implemented based on user type.Ability to read/modify company settings, with the company settings being updated without a page refresh(AJAX was used).Google Maps API used to calculated distances and set routes. Large requests were broken down into multiple requests programmatically.
