Investigation Manager
BT possesses a highly experienced and efficient Security Directorate to safeguard its assets, people, information and customers. Investigation Services where I sat is responsible for the collation, assessment, investigation and prosecution of all crimes and serious disciplinary offences committed that involve the BT group.During my service I had cause to investigate all forms of crime ranging from simple store and supply chain thefts through data disclosure to corporate blackmail and corruption and assistance in the investigation of murders. The largest internal case I had personal responsibility for was a highly sensitive and political corruption case valued at £12m. This highly complex case involved the analysis of vast volumes of data, computing forensics, exhibit handling, board level interface, complex file construction and dozens of formal PACE interviews by me.Throughout this career there was constant HR interface in respect of all internal cases where serious breach of compliance and/or criminal activity was undertaken by staff. Many cases involved working in tandem with other Law Enforcement Agencies; most notably the Police but also organisations such as Customs & Excise, NCIS, Benefits Agency, Local Government and other corporates. - Presentation and liaison skills. The last 10 years of my corporate I was required to work independently away from my team’s Head Office in Milton Keynes, working from home and taking personal responsibility for the investigation of crime and security issues specifically across the north of England. – Trustworthy and reliable. My career took me into all areas of this gigantic corporate business – Customer Services, Retail, Engineering, Fleet, Computing Services, Mobile Services, Human Resources, Insurance, and many more. In 2000 my efforts received a Directors Award for “Excellent Contribution” into the successful investigation and convictions relating to a multi-million cfrime against BT.
