• Organisation and research: I start each month by planning a list of features to be used over 12 regional publications for the coming four weeks, before proceeding to research, corroborate, and write them all to multiple deadlines.• Creativity: Each feature is designed with a specific audience, occasion or anniversary in mind and designed accordingly with appropriate pictures. Given our wide readership demographic, each feature is given a tone to suit the target audience.• Flexibility: I support the features designer with design and layout, and our advertising teams frequently call me to request short, snappy commercial features that they can sell around.• Interpersonal: I carry out phone interviews almost daily, and I deal with PRs regularly via email and phone.• Administration skills: I liaise with contributors, manage a features calendar, maintain an efficient filing system, and divert calls to the appropriate staff.
