I’m a Member of the law firm of Miller Johnson and have practiced law for more than 40 years. I chair Miller Johnson’s highly regarded Employment and Labor Section of 25 attorneys working from our Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo offices. I advise employers on employment matters including affirmative action, employment discrimination, occupational safety and health, wage and hour law, and workplace harassment. A significant part of my practice revolves around union avoidance, as well as collective bargaining, and union-management relations. The clients I work with range from multinational corporations to locally grown businesses, and from publicly traded corporations to family owned businesses. They represent a wide range of industries including construction, health care, manufacturing, and distribution. I’ve spoken on employment and labor topics before management organizations throughout Michigan and the Midwest.
