I am a detail-oriented individual focused on finding real world solutions to modern problems, through policy and legal analysis. My interests involve business relationships and policy matters, and my studies in the field of Political Science at the University of California, Riverside have helped sharpen my analytical and writing skills, by the practice of synthesizing ideas based on existing facts, events, and theories, which I had accomplished through class discussions and essay production. Furthermore, I received training in the legal discovery process by virtue of legal research, writing practice, and methods of discovery, in my Paralegal Certificate program. Some of the training involved business law modules that have sparked my interest in this legal area. My Political Science background coupled with my understanding of different aspects of legal work, has provided me with a clear picture of how my skills would carry over into paralegal work and help me succeed in my area of practice. Additionally, I have job experience from working at restaurants, as well as a legal research internship experience, from my time volunteering at ICLS, a non-profit legal organization. My job experience, as well as my internship, has provided me with skills development in teamwork contribution, communication, attentiveness to details, and leadership when it comes to presentation of my work on a particular task and guiding others according to it. These experiences and skill developments have shown me how I could turn something new and unfamiliar into subjects I could discuss with others with clear understanding, and emphasis on the most important points.I look froward to starting my career in the legal field and expanding on my professional network as I continue make connections with working professionals.
