About Peter L. Duffy

As a practicing interventional cardiologist with over 25 years of experience I am currently working as a Locum Tenens cardiologist at UNC/Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount North Carolina dedicating my practice to taking care of patients coming to the hospital with heart attacks and other life threatening heart conditions. This is my passion but it also allows me to better understand the needs of Cardiologists and cardiovascular service lines as I also serve as a consultant for quality improvement and optimization of resource utilization for heart programs around the country.I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology and serve as a consultant for Terumo Healthcare Outcomes. Additionally I remain involved with the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) after having served on their Executive Committee for the past seven years.

In that capacity I oversee the area of healthcare reform. Additionally I serve on both the Quality and Radial Best Practices committees at SCAI.To further foster quality in percutaneous intervention I am a reviewer for Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) and oversee, as Medical Director for Cardiology, efforts of National Medical Review (NMR) to provide evaluation and education to cardiac cath labs on areas of quality improvement.
