I always enjoyed the technical fields growing up and naturally steered towards this for my bachelors. Entering the workplace, I stuck with it and pursued work in quality assurance and food microbiology. However, after several years I yearned to learn more.I pursued my masters in Public Health and through this I found the spark that was missing - data. Shortly into my biostatistics course work, I came to the realisation that not only do I enjoy this type of work, but I also started seeing applications of these techniques in my own working life. This is when it clicked and I knew where I wanted my career to take me.Finally, I was able to pursue this path in 2016 in the industry I was most experienced in. This was great, as I was able to draw upon my existing domain knowledge whilst developing my technical data skills at the same time.In the present, I've developed into a data generalist in our small team and work across the full scope of Data & Analytics. One day I could be building data pipeline in Databricks and maintaining legacy systems in SSIS, the next day data modelling and developing reporting solutions in either Power BI or Tableau, and the following working on a data science project to predict biological growth of a species we are farming.At the core, I'm a lifelong learner with a passion for data and specialise in being able to work across the full spectrum of data roles.
