I joined the Board of Governors of BSM in September 1999 as Relocation Finance Governor, charged with arranging the funding of the construction of a brand new international school in Manila. In challenging times post the Asian financial crisis, this was done successfully and the school opened in Bonifacio Global City in 2001. I was Chair of the Board for the 2002/03 school year before retiring from the Board. I served as an ex-officio Trustee of the School's supervisory body until 2013.

I joined the Board of the PRFU in April 2008 and fulfilled various roles. At that stage the PRFU had just one full-time employee. The PRFU was admitted as a full member of the International Rugby Board (now World Rugby) at the end of 2008. Working with a growing team, the men's National Team (the Volcanoes) prospered over the next four years, progressing through Asian Divisions 3, 2 and 1 and into the A5N top tier, which included Japan and Hong Kong. The men qualified for the Hong Kong Rugby 7s and the World Cup of 7s held in Moscow in 2013. The Philippine women's rugby team also began participating in Asian tournaments. My responsibilities were manifold - raising sponsorship funds, organising and negotiating broadcast coverage for international tournaments, managing local and international junior rugby events and representing the PRFU at Asian Rugby forums whilst having Board responsibility for finance.
