GEON is Australia and New Zealand’s leading printing and communication solutions Company. GEON employs over 1,300 employees across 25 sites. My role as Group MIS Manager encompasses all sites across Australia and New Zealand. GEON caters for large corporate customers such as Microsoft, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, Woolworths, AXA, VW, Toyota, Bupa, Fosters and Resmed to name a few.Key responsibilities• Providing strategic direction on key system initiatives to benefit GEON and GEON’s customers.• Implementing standard procedures across all GEON Australia and NZ sites.• Ensure the MIS team (6 staff) was proving a high level of service to our customers and internal staff.• Staff performance management, up skilling and development.• Ensure that system modules are functioning at an optimum level. Modules include Accounting, Costing, and Quoting, Production, Electronic Scheduling, Web On-line Ordering, Inventory and Warehousing.

During my time as IT Specialist I was responsible for the network infrastructure for six sites (Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville). During this time Penfold Buscombe acquired a number of new businesses and relocated to a large site in Banksmeadow in 2001.Key responsibilities• Support IT network infrastructure LAN and WAN, consisting of over 100 servers and 500 workstations. • Maintain Information System, CRM and other business systems.• Control system and network information security • Maintain Citrix remote network farm • Update disaster recovery plan, IT policy and system documentations.

Employed as a Senior Service Engineer most of my time is dedicated to on-site maintains, server and workstation support. Day-to-day tasks ranged from the setup of a Novell servers and designing network solution to resolving a workstation problem.Key responsibilities• On-site customer support.• Server and workstation configurations.• Ensure SLA compliance.• Configuration of internet service solution and e-mail service• Software install of Novell Netware 4.11 & 5, MS Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows NT Back office 4.0 & 4.5, Windows NT Terminal Server 4.0, Citrix Metaframe 1.0, Windows 2000 Advance Server, MS Exchange Server, Proxy Server, MS Office, Novell Groupwise 5.1, Lotus Notes and PC Anywhere.
