Founding Principal Investigator for the Operational Biomechanics & Ergonomics (OBiE) Lab (Est. 2018). Program Management: in a non-core funded research environment, built biomechanics lab from bottom-up. Managing research portfolio consisting of RDT&E for spine biomechanics/ergonomics and vestibular research. Provide ergonomics/kinematics support to various research project as SME/Consultant including CBRN Human Performance, Pulmonary Function Systems, Efficacy of Physiologic Sensors, Industrial Exoskeleton Systems.Research Areas: musculoskeletal disorders, low back pain, and neck pain in aircrew and warfighters (causality and intervention efficacy), quantification of return-to-duty, human performance, human systems integration. Skill sets applied: leadership, project management, process improvement, technology management, STM, strategic planning, research transition into acquisitions pipeline, programmatic budgeting and execution of funds, building collaborations, intellectual property in research design, continuous improvement. Teaching: Serve as mentor and educator for ORISE interns and post-doctoral fellows, teach coursework in ergonomics for USAF Integrated Operational Support, CME for Naval Flight Surgeons, CME for AsMAAdditional training: acquisition management, science and technology management, intellectual property and data rights, and systems engineering.
