Founder of LBI in 1971 , a research, development, engineering, and manufacturing company specializing in marine and naval systems. www.lbicorp.com Research & Development Program Manager and Principal Investigator on many SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grants for the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the Navy and NOAA. The following are some of the notable projects. ONR and the Navy: “Towed Array Control Module” for ONR to control the shape and buoyancy of a Sonar Array, Air-Deployable Underwater Glider for deployment from Navy P-3 Orion and P-8 Poseidon aircraft, Large Displace Underwater Unmanned Vehicle (LDUUV) Innovative Naval Prototype, the manned and unmanned Low Visibility Craft (LVC), the UUVSS a system to launch underwater drones from Navy submarines. Developed replicas or simulators of foreign (enemy) seas mines that are acoustically accurate. They are used by the Navy to develop better methods of detection and neutralization of live mines. Some of the notable projects include the development for NOAA: AXIB an air deployable “Seasonal Ice Buoy” designed to survive the crushing forces of the ice through multiple freeze and thaw cycles in the Arctic and Antarctic. The LBI AXIB buoy has the record for successful survival in the arctic, reporting for more than 5 years. LBI continues to manufacture the AXIB for the Navy NOAA and Environment and Climate Change Canada. AXSEB, Air Deployable Severe Environment Buoy or “Hurricane Buoy”.In the fall 0f 2019 he founded Innovators LINK Corporation with a grant from the State of Connecticut through CTNext and TRIP. Research was conducted at UCONN Graduate School of Business during the 2019-2020 school year. August 2018 - LBI was awarded a $5.4 million contract to design and manufacture a launch and recovery system for unmanned underwater vehicles for the Navy. This five-year contract is for a lightweight system to launch and recover UUVs from 11-meter rigid-hull inflatable boats used by Naval Special Warfare teams. The new 500-pound system will be made out of carbon fiber composite and will replace the current system, which weighs 2,000 pounds.-2013 - 2018 - NSWC Carderock Philadelphia $27M Camel Separator Contract - As Principle Designer for LBI, led the design team to develop and manufacture a new Deep Draft Camel Separator used to moor all classes of the Navy’s nuclear submarines.-Principal Investigator for the ONR Research contract - developed two Innovative Naval Prototypes (INPs). Developed and successfully tested two Innovative Naval Prototypes (INPs)/Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater vehicles (LDUUV’s).-Contracted with ONR and Scripps Institution of Oceanography to develop the Stingray and X-ray Underwater Gliders Prototypes. Projects for ONR also included the development of an Unmanned Surface Vessel LVC (Low Visibility Craft) for mine field mapping and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions and the transport, launch and recover of UUV’s.

Team Member Of Newly Formed Cooperation Team Out Of The Us Air Force Base In Thule, Greenland

Represented LBI as a team member of newly formed international cooperation team that deployed LBI’s AXIB buoys near the North Pole. These flights on a Danish C-130 were out of The US Air Force Base in Thule, Greenland. In response to changing requirements for weather and oceanographic information, LBI continues to grow in new directions to meet our changing world and is now developing a new “Seasonal Ice Buoy” to address those needs.
