CurrentAugust 2018 - LBI was awarded a $5.4 million contract to design and manufacture a launch and recovery system for unmanned underwater vehicles for the Navy. This five-year contract is for a lightweight system to launch and recover UUVs from 11-meter rigid-hull inflatable boats used by Naval Special Warfare teams. The new 500-pound system will be made out of carbon fiber composite and will replace the current system, which weighs 2,000 pounds.-2013 - 2018 - NSWC Carderock Philadelphia $27M Camel Separator Contract - As Principle Designer for LBI, led the design team to develop and manufacture a new Deep Draft Camel Separator used to moor all classes of the Navy’s nuclear submarines.-Principal Investigator for the ONR Research contract - developed two Innovative Naval Prototypes (INPs). Developed and successfully tested two Innovative Naval Prototypes (INPs)/Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater vehicles (LDUUV’s).-Contracted with ONR and Scripps Institution of Oceanography to develop the Stingray and X-ray Underwater Gliders Prototypes. Projects for ONR also included the development of an Unmanned Surface Vessel LVC (Low Visibility Craft) for mine field mapping and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions and the transport, launch and recover of UUV’s.
