Peter is a partner at Consilium Public Sector Services Inc., a firm of experienced consultants offering services to public organizations and municipal administrations. He works as a consultant and trainer in policing, leadership and community wellbeing. Recently, with colleagues, he undertook reviews and strategic planning processes for several Ontario police services. Individually, he completed a program review for an Ontario community college, and has worked with another college and a university in the creation and development of new academic and practical programs. He also worked with a Canada-wide police training provider to enhance one of its programs.Peter is a facilitator on the Micro-credential Certificate in Senior Police Leadership at Trent University Durham GTA. He is also an adjudicator in police discipline tribunals. He is the vice-president of the Ontario Municipal Management Institute, and recently returned to the board of a small but wonderful public library in North Hastings, Ontario.He served on the Toronto Police Service for 35 years, retiring as the superintendent commanding the Toronto Police College. He was commander of both No. 11 Division (front-line policing) and the Employment Unit (recruiting, hiring, HR administration). He served as acting staff superintendent of Corporate Risk Management (Professional Standards, the Toronto Police College, Legal Services and other units).Peter has senior leadership experience in police operations, human and budget management, training and planning, having been involved in substantial change initiatives dating back to 1991. He has worked with politicians and community groups within and outside policing, and has served on various committees at the local, provincial and federal levels. He was part of a group of Ontario police officers, academics and social-work professionals that consulted with the Police Service of Northern Ireland.Pete’s strengths include communication and facilitation. He is an energetic, strong and thoughtful leader. His approach is collegial, consultative and strategic. He excels at solving problems, working alone or with others.Pete has an honours BA from the University of Toronto and a certificate in adult education from St. Francis Xavier University. He holds the highest designation (CMM III Police Executive) from the Ontario Municipal Management Institute, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Police Exemplary Service Medal and bar.
