Until July, 2012, Mr. Levitt was Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Manulife Financial responsible for treasury operations, capital raising, funding, short term investments, oversight of Manulife Bank treasury operations, and management of liquidity risk, foreign exchange risk and credit supply. He oversaw Manulife’s relationships with bankers and rating agencies, and was the treasury interface with investment dealers, investors, regulators and analysts. Peter Levitt joined Manulife in June, 2007 from TD Bank Financial Group, where he held the position of Vice President, Capital Finance in the Bank’s Treasury department. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of capital management, M&A deal financing analysis, strategy and execution, capital optimization strategies, and managed relationships with rating agencies, investment bankers and regulators. His previous roles at TD included head of TD Securities treasury, responsible for liquidity risk management, capital management, funds transfer pricing and non-trading FX hedging, and prior to that was CFO of TD's retail wealth management group during the integration with Canada Trust.Prior to the TD acquisition in 2000, Peter Levitt spent 18 years at Canada Trust with roles in systems development, technology deployment, asset/liability management, cash management, liquidity risk management, securitization, product pricing and hedging strategies, and as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Canada Trust's wealth management business.Peter Levitt holds an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
