Peter is an experienced and passionate four-time Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with 23 years of leadership experience, including 12 years in the field of cybersecurity. He has worked with SaaS unicorns, large multinational Fortune 500 companies, and at the highest levels of government, both as an employee and an advisor. For the past five years, Peter has focused on refining his experience in overseeing DevSecOps teams for both traditional SaaS and mobile applications, designing cloud security and continuous monitoring strategies, and developing his own cyber risk methodology which he later sold to a security company. He is an expert at identifying cyber risks in complex compliance and legal environments and has built effective risk mitigation strategies that address current and future issues. Peter brings extensive experience in modernizing security programs by using automation and industry best practices to make them more effective and efficient. In 2019, Peter was recognized by industry peers at the RSA conference as the country’s top CISO for building a 24x7 security team from scratch that was able to detect and prevent nation-state-level attacks, as well as develop an industry-leading internal audit program which was able to meet the requirement of over six compliance and privacy frameworks including PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPPA. Peter has also overseen the investigation and remediation of hundreds of incidents across multiple industries and has directly coordinated with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for large-scale advanced persistent threat breaches.
