I established a benchmarks and milestones communications plan for the adoption of the principle of the Timor-led g7+ community of fragile states. This plan considered several different sets of stakeholders; the members of the g7+, the United Nations Secy-General’s office, donor States, donor NGOs, and other inter-government organisations. It was a complex and high-level and extended from early 2012 and peaked with the September meeting of the entire UN General Assembly. I am effective at managing reputational risks and issues, solving problems as they emerge ad hoc and implemented innovative solutions. To be specific, I would cite, from 2012, the clashing of interests between those member states was saw virtue in reform, and those who identified a threat to status quo. My strategy for overcoming this was twin track. I harnessed the agency of New York based Ambassadors from each g7+ state to become roving champions of the ideals behind reform, and armed them with packages of aligned messages around the “practicalities” of a new modality. I constructed message themes and fast fact QNA packages and identified Ambassador level champions inside the UN power blocs like the BRICS to hone similar themes within their own meeting calendar of events. With Timor, my duties also included:• speech writing, • developing and writing the "media messages" for Ministers and officials, • developing story 'ideas' for reporters, • writing Timor-related op Eds, • ghost-written stories for magazines, • and the feature writing for purchased " advertorial " pages in Foreign Policy magazine. I also supervising international media coverage for 10th anniversary of Timor Leste, managing international media demands, writing media releases for the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.Separately, I researched and wrote cabinet minutes on oil and gas policy,
