In 2005, after 12 years in the Project Management and Development game, I established Four Winds Project Management (Pty) Ltd. As company director my aim has always been to provide professional project management; ensuring the product is delivered timeously, at the requisite quality, and within the budgetary constraints agreed to.Having started in the industry with Collins Group of Companies (Collins Contractors) in 1993, I made the decision to explore my options in the UK. In 1999, I began work on the Kew Riverside Development (400 units) and in 2000, I joined the Bruce Shaw Partnership to begin work on The Berkeley (Savoy) Hotel in Knightsbridge. Since returning to SA, projects have included the Durban Point Waterfront Development, UShaka Marine World, Pinnacle Point Resorts and, Royal Palm Estates, among others. In 2003, we began work on Phase 1 of the Liberty Midlands Mall - Pietermaritzburg (with the accompanying 128 bed, Stay Easy Southern Sun Hotel) and have seen this project through all its phases; including phase 4, which currently underway.Projects like these truly drive me; to see the initial plans and drawings taking shape and becoming something tangible, something 'living' is incredibly fulfilling. Yes, this game is challenging, at times hugely frustrating, but "handing over the keys" once a project is complete just never gets old!
