I have over 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector.Drawn in by creativity, flavours and stories of this vibrant industry I was able to navigate a career path across roles and continents.I loved the opportunities open to me early in my career to travel and explore while making cocktails and then I found an equally enjoyable enterprise when I settled in Wellington. Wellington is were my career changed from making delicious drinks and telling stories to training the next generation in hospitality and learning fantastic new skills of my own. As an operations manager for a hospitality business the range of skills you develop is fantastic from business acumen, comms, marketing, Hr to off the cuff temporary plumbing.My time in the Wellington Hospitality scene also allowed me to work on exciting projects such as Visa Wellington on a Plate and gave me the opportunity to work with other operators on groups to shape the future of food and drink in Wellington.January 2024, I have embarked upon a new pathway in the public sector. I have joined the Hutt City Council Business and Economy Team and the opportunity to continue my development and bring some of my experiences across is really exciting.
