Familiarized myself with the Public Assistance Program Policy Guide (PAPPAG) and federal regulations governing disaster recovery funding. This includes understanding the requirements for Category C projects, Category B Emergency Protective Measures and COVID-19 projects. Reviewed and validated cost estimates submitted by applicants for complex subawards. Ensured that the estimates are accurate, reasonable, and compliant with program guidelines and federal rules. Identified opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in program delivery. This involved streamlining procedures, adopting new technologies, or implementing best practices from previous disaster recovery efforts. Reviewed and developed Cost Estimates using Weighted averages, RS Means and applicant provided documents if provided to complete cost estimates and SOW. Estimated costs associated with implementing various hazard mitigation measures. These measures included things like building reinforcements, drainage improvements, or landscaping changes aimed at reducing the risk of future disasters. As a Public Assistance Program Delivery Manager (PDMG), my role is to serve as the main point of contact for applicants, offering customer service and programmatic guidance related to public assistance throughout the disaster recovery process. Facilitate and coordinate the accurate delivery of grant funding while aligning with the applicant's recovery priorities. This includes understanding their capabilities and capacity to develop projects, as well as their readiness to participate in site inspections. Responsibilities involve coordinating with relevant stakeholders, conducting assessments, and ensuring that grant funding is utilized effectively to support the applicant's recovery efforts.
