I studied battery degradation in Prof. Will Chueh's lab (chuehlab.stanford.edu). My projects ranged from fundamental electrochemical analysis of degradation modes to prediction and optimization of battery lifetime during fast charging using machine learning.For the latter, I led a project with 8 team members combining expertise in materials science and computer science. This project started with $200k in seed funding and led to $10M in funding from Toyota, the Department of Energy, and the US Navy, as well as a major new initiative at Stanford (StorageX). Publications from this project were published in Nature and Nature Energy and covered by outlets such as WIRED and the WSJ.I also served as the Chueh group's lab manager for 2018. I ensured the lab was a safe, productive, and enjoyable work environment for all 30+ lab members.
