I am conducting senior honors thesis research involving integrating models of temperature-based radioactive decay systems with models of mountain belts. This process includes reviewing relevant scientific literature, writing a proposal, and running and analyzing geodynamic models.Last year, I analyzed the output of geophysical models of mountain belts using Python scripts in order to develop a quantitative classification system for mountain belts based on distributions of strain through time. I also refactored functions and scripts for usage in GDMATE, an in-development open-source Python package designed to enable users with limited coding experience to run programs for geophysical modeling. This process included writing thorough documentation, tests, and tutorials.

As a part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program, I worked as a student researcher in the Levine group. I developed machine learning models to predict physical properties of an organic molecule with the ultimate goal of using these models and their predictions to improve the runtime of molecular dynamics simulations. I wrote all of my code in Python using the Scikit-Learn library. To train and test my models, I used Stony Brook University's SeaWulf computational cluster.
