After HIsmelt I was brought into the BR TAR shutdown to help with increasing IR issues. It was only a short stint but learned a lot from both the shutdown team and BP personnel.

Hismelt Kwinan Plant

Took over the role filled by David Pye, all of the hard work was done by David, the client trusted Monadelphous to perform during planned and unplanned shutdowns. Experience in the team to prepare for shutdowns was excellent and commitment to perform and succeed ahead of client expectations was always a goal.

Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter

Area of responsibility was for maintenance projects across site but focusing on Converter rebuilds.Manage and develop the Converter rebuilds to increase reliability while decreasing cost and rebuild time.Design out repeat failures that increase cost or man hours.Write SWI’s to increase maintenance knowledge, liaise with the maintenance trainer to implement.

Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter

Area of responsibility was for maintenance in the Furnace, Converters, and Materials HandlingManage Maintenance Engineers to remove reliability issues in the plant.Monitor teams for effective use of personnel and resources to ensure a quality service is provided to the Production Department.Review budget and expenditure on a monthly basis, modify the plan.

Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter

• I was seconded to become a part of the KNS MSD2003 Outage Management Team from may normal role as Maintenance Manager at Kambalda Nickel Concentrator. My duties were for the management and control of: Cranage.
• The role involved advance preparation with many contract companies to ensure that services would be provided to the Outage within budget, no incidents, and meeting the KNS vision of “Safe, Reliable Production”. Three.

Kambalda Nickel Concentrator

• Areas of responsibility:the Concentrator, Mining (Fixed Plant), Services (Air, Water, and Roads), combined maintenance budget of $9.2m.
• March‘98 was a major change in strategy from a WMC workforce to a Prime Source Maintenance Contract workforce. I was involved in planning and implementing that strategy while causing minimal delays to the operations of.
• Management of the capital budget expenditure and of rotable equipment. Off site repairs contract was instigated to reduce costs and improve quality of work conducted.
• Apply RCM Turbo techniques and questioning what value all maintenance activities were giving to the operation.
• Developed site specific plans, e.g. safety management, service contracts for on and off site work, statutory requirements for HV single line drawings, communication with government departments.
• Develop plans for maintenance using the vision of Corporate WMC
