This role continues in the central HR division within Sainsbury’s Retail. I am to ensure that the correct learning and development tools are available for all colleagues and managers as well as planning ahead by developing managers that are future fit.• I continue to work within a region of 29 stores and am accountable for colleague development.• Working with external party in the delivery of development courses for colleagues and management within the Sainsburys umbrella.• Working with local councils to support people getting into managerial positions within retail.• Supporting diversity by holding events on the region that support awareness and recognition.• Work with my key stakeholders to deliver talent plans for the region.• Work with stakeholders to ensure succession planning is instilled within the region.• Offer specialised support to colleagues and managers.• I work cross-zonally to build up networks for colleagues and aid career opportunities in hard to recruit areas.

• Multi-site training/development management of approximately 4200 colleagues.• Covering a region with 29 supermarkets and convenience stores.

This role is based in the central HR division within Sainsbury’s Retail and the focus in around delivery of Learning and Development solutions to support colleague capability and business needs. • Multi-site training/development management of approximately 460 colleagues.• Delivery development days. • Inducting and welcoming new starters into the business.• Working with senior management teams to ensure Safe and Legal training is complete to timescale.• Work with talent leads across the region.• Organising and facilitating workshops for regional colleagues to attend.• Delivery of ‘Learning Bursts’ to help leaders understand commerciality and lead with a growth mindset.• Review current business KPI’s and link to the L&D offer.• Support cluster teams with the launch of new training platforms.• Working with external parties including Remploy and MENCAP.

• Responsible for 25 colleagues across all departments including 3 Team Leaders.• Learnt the new skills needed and processes to follow to be able to run my new department correctly.• Sales across 3 departments approximately £9 Million per annum.• Improvement of waste as a % of sales.• Safe and Legal Lead for the store. Ensuring robust processes and procedures are being maintained from beginning to end, especially on high risk departments. • Able to engage colleagues and embed new processes within my business area.• Saving of £20k on waste over the course of the financial year.• Licence to pre-appoint manager. This means new department managers to the business from around the region come to me to get on the job training and experience.• Management of colleague productivity through Managing for Improved Performance (MFIP). • Experience in business planning for the financial year taking into account local competition and the effect it would have on sales and waste.• Managing a labour budget in excess of 500 hours per week.• Nominated as the ‘Waste Lead’ for the store tasked to gain traction against the waste budget ensuring the store continually made a saving.

• Responsible for managing the running of the whole store with takings of £480k+ per week.• Both departments incur sales of approximately £7 Million per annum.• Management of colleagues through process and policy during their times off work with sickness ensuring they are fit and healthy to return to their roles.• Experience of dealing with long term sick absences. • Experience in holding investigation and disciplinary meetings with colleagues across the store ensuring the right outcomes are decided upon.• Engaging and encouraging colleagues through planned meetings, briefings and huddles.• Delivery of labour cost through holiday phasing, colleague productivity and absence management. • Managing a labour budget saving.• Experience of completing robust Business plans detailing ways to improve sales and total loss therefore helping to achieve all key KPI’s.• Making sure the departments are safe and legal for both the general public and colleagues to shop and work in through robust processes.• Responsible for development, performance and well being of a team of colleagues.• Worked alongside store teams to open a brand new pizza counter as an addition to the current Counter offer in store.• Interviewing candidates for employment ensuring we are hiring the correct people for the role they are applying for.

Trained in various stores within the West Midlands.• I developed knowledge in each specific department across the store and gained a greater insight into business management as well as utilising and gaining experience from my peers.• Attended multiple courses across the region for my own personal development.• Promoted myself through 1 to 1's with Store Managers and presentations to Regional Operations Manager and Regional HR Partner.
